About Us

Moore Music Company, central NC's largest, and oldest, locally owned music store, was founded in 1939 by Mr. Lewis L. Moore. He started the store to provide piano storage and technical work, but quickly expanded the business into a full line retail music store which has become a landmark in Greensboro and the Triad area. Moore Music Company offers a full line of band and orchestra instruments for both sale and rent. In addition we provide accessories, keyboards, guitars, ukuleles, private lessons and instrument repairs. Short term piano and organ rentals are also available. Further, we boast the largest selection of print music in central North Carolina.

Looking for an intimate recital or performance space? Moore Music Company has an on-site venue available for rental.

Locally owned by Al and Patti Stephens, the store's staff, teachers, and repair technicians are all accomplished musicians desiring to provide the best of service to the store's customers. The store is located in downtown Greensboro with plenty of parking. Store hours are 9:30am-7:00pm Monday-Friday; 9:30am-4:00pm Saturday and closed on Sunday.
